Arik is currently in Prosser, Washington. This is a picture of Arik and his companion. He is doing a great job. He says in his emails that he is trying to be a good missionary and loves doing the lords work. Arik's companion is from Mesa and graduated from Mountain View a couple of years before Arik did. We miss him but we are very proud of him.

Mission Call
Arik received his mission call on August 27th, 2010. He was so excited yet he had to wait for everyone to get home from work and school before he could open the envelope. We invited my parents and Jay's parents to come over at 5:00pm for the opening of the letter. Before Arik opened the letter he asked everyone to write down on a piece of paper what States mission they thought he might get called to and what Country mission he might get called too. Funny thing no one guessed Washington. Arik has been called to serve in the Washington, Kennewick Mission and reports to the MTC in Provo on October 27th, 2010. Exactly two months fromt he day he received his call. We are all very excited for Arik. He is the first grandchild from both sides of our families to serve a mission. More to come on the mission...

Getting ready for school
School starts in less than a week and Meghan and Summer wanted their hair cut so I cut it. Summer's hair is not to much short but Meghan's hair is. They both look so cute. We have so much to do to be ready for school. Some things will have to wait until I find a job. Hopefully that will be soon.

Yesterday was Fathers Day. Jay and I called our dads to wish them Happy Fathers Day but I decided to stay home a cook a special dinner for jay with the help of the kids. We had Chicken Parmigiana with fettuccine noodles, crescent rolls, green beans and a fruit patter with dip. The kids really tried hard to make it special. Meghan set the table with a table cloth and linen napkins. It was nice to relax and enjoy dinner with each other. Jay is a great father. He is kind and loving and a hard worker. He is also a great teacher. Jay is my best friend, my husband and a role model to many. Love you Jay!

Arik arrived home safely Saturday from Scout Encampment with the teachers and priest in our ward. Five days in the mountains, boy was he dirty. He wanted to tell me all about the camp out but I suggest a shower first. After he was cleaned up he talked no stop about everything that happened for at least 2 hours. He had a great time and learned a lot. He has great leaders. I am so thankful for Jimmy Christensen his Scout Leader.

After looking at several other blogs I decide to start one of my own. Today Summer started summer school but before that she played Stake Primary Softball at 5:45 am. Meghan is sick still even after taking medications so I will taking her to the doctors again. Arik left at 6:30 this morning to start his scout encampment in the White Mountains. Jay is getting ready for teaching summer school next week. He is tranporting all the materials from one school to the other. I will start applying to other school districts this week. Yesterday we started the summer with a barbaque at my parents home. The kids went swimming and had a great time in the heat.
